I get a busy signal, or the line keeps ringing, when I call to check STS Telecom Voice Mail service The system is extremely busy Hang up and call again later
My calls are forwarding to voice mail after (too many/ too few) rings. The standard number of rings before forwarding to voice mail is not appropriate for you. Call STS Telecom to request a change in number of rings for Call Forward No Answer on your line
What if I can't remember my password? You did not activate your mailbox or did not write down the password number when activating Try your 7 digit telephone number or your 10 digit telephone number. [If one of these work, please change it to a private password and write it down.] Ask others in the household if they know the password. If none of this helps, call STS Telecom. Your mailbox will have to be deleted and rebuilt and any current messages will be lost.
My Passcode doesn't work Could someone else in your household have changed the Passcode without your knowledge? Check with others who use your STS Telecom Voice Mail service
I can't get access to all of my mailbox features. You might have used a submailbox password, where features are more limited. You might not have ordered all the features found in the User Guide. Log in using the Main mailbox password. Call STS Telecom to ensure you have the desired features.

When I pick up my phone, I hear broken dial tone before I hear a regular dial tone. This is called "stutter dial tone" It indicates that you have messages in your mailbox Call your mailbox and listen to your messages
I have new messages in my mailbox, but don't hear stutter dial tone when I pick up my phone. The STS Telecom Voice Mail number identification link may be temporarily out of order. Dial your number and leave a message. When the link is restored, the message you leave should reset your message signal.
I hear the stutter dialtone but there are no new messages in my mailbox. The STS Telecom Voice Mail number identification link may be temporarily out of order. Dial your number and leave a message. Then make a call to your mailbox and delete the message to see if this corrects the Message Waiting status of your line.
TIPS:
If you dial  (or call your mailbox access number from home) and get a message requesting your mailbox number and Passcode, then the voice mail number identification link may be temporarily out of order. Provide your mailbox number and Passcode and you can enter your mailbox.
If you have a privacy feature on your telephone line that blocks delivery of your name and number,  Access service cannot connect you directly to your voice mailbox. If you prefer the ease of access to your mailbox, you may dial  to turn off the privacy feature. If you prefer the Privacy feature, then call the STS Telecom Voice Mail telephone number to access your mailbox instead of using .
Find out the number the person was calling from when they left you a message by pressing  either during or right after the message
Forget the access number? Use Easy Access! Just dial your home phone & when the message starts to play, press , then enter your Passcode
When checking messages from a friend's house & they have voicemail on the same platform, press  so that the number you're dialing from is blocked to the voice mail platform. Then the platform won't know which mailbox you're trying to access. After pressing , dial the access number, press , your telephone number & then your password
When leaving a message for another STS Telecom Voice Mail subscriber, pressing  will skip the greeting allow to record a message

STS Telecom® Star 98 Access service is an optional feature that immediately connects you with your voice mail service from home.
Messages marked "private" cannot be forwarded.
"Stutter" dial tone and a lighted message-waiting indicator are optional services. The lighted message-waiting indicator service is not available in all areas and requires special equipment.
